Suspended Listing
A Google Business Profile that Google has disabled for violating its guidelines, removing it from search.
A suspended listing is a Google Business Profile that Google has disabled, usually for a suspected violation of its guidelines. Suspensions come in two forms: a soft suspension, where you lose management access but the listing still shows, and a hard suspension, where the listing is removed from Search and Maps entirely.
Common triggers include keyword-stuffing your business name, using a false or virtual address, listing a service-area business with a public storefront address it does not have, or making rapid suspicious edits. The frustrating part is that a suspension notice rarely spells out the exact cause.
Recovering a suspended listing means identifying and correcting the guideline issue, then filing a reinstatement request with supporting evidence that the business is legitimate. Because a suspension can erase your local visibility overnight, following Google guidelines carefully is far cheaper than fixing a suspension later.
