Duplicate Listing

A second, unwanted Google listing for the same business that splits reviews and confuses rankings.

A duplicate listing occurs when the same business has more than one Google Business Profile. Duplicates often appear accidentally, for example when someone creates a new profile instead of claiming an existing one, or when Google auto-generates a listing that overlaps with your official one.

Duplicates hurt in several ways. They split your reviews and photos across multiple profiles, dilute the ranking signals that should be concentrated in one listing, and confuse customers who may call an outdated number or visit a wrong address. Google itself may struggle to decide which listing to show.

Resolving duplicates, by merging or removing the extra listing, consolidates your reviews, activity, and authority into a single strong profile. It is a common cleanup task that often unlocks better and more consistent local visibility.
