Google Search Console

A free Google tool that shows how your website performs in search and flags technical issues.

Google Search Console is a free tool from Google that reports how your website appears and performs in search results. It shows the queries that bring people to your site, your impressions and clicks, your average position, and which pages rank, along with technical alerts about indexing, mobile usability, and structured data.

It is the most direct window Google offers into how it sees your site. Beyond performance data, Search Console lets you submit a sitemap, request indexing of new pages, and catch problems, such as pages Google cannot crawl, that would otherwise quietly cost you traffic.

For a local business owner, Search Console complements the insights inside your Business Profile. The profile tells you about your listing and map presence, while Search Console tells you about your website, so together they cover both halves of local search.
