Impressions vs Clicks
The difference between how often your listing is seen and how often it is actually clicked.
Impressions and clicks are two distinct metrics that are easy to confuse. An impression counts each time your listing or result is shown to someone, whether or not they interact with it. A click counts only when someone actually taps or clicks through to your listing, website, or a call button.
Seen together, these numbers tell a story that neither reveals alone. High impressions with low clicks mean you are visible but not persuasive, often a sign your rating, photos, or messaging need work. Low impressions mean you are not being shown enough in the first place, which points to a ranking or relevance problem.
For a local owner, separating the two guides where to spend effort. Fixing a visibility problem is a different job from fixing a persuasion problem, and knowing which one you have keeps you from optimizing the wrong thing.
